Campervan Days Out: Fun Day in London

Just back from a really fun weekend in London, not in the campervan this time, as we were staying with my sister who lives in North London. It was a wonderful day that went from meerkats to mocha and ended with salsa in the street. Let me explain…

Ally (my sister) is a professional gardener and took us to Capel Manor Gardens and Horticulture college where she studied and it was a great day out and a really nice place to visit if you are staying or travelling through London and want a bit of greenery. You can even see meerkats and wallabys there…

We then went on to super-cool Crouch End for a really tasty, reasonably priced Turkish meal and did a bit of a restaurant-crawl for dessert up to Riley Ice-Cream cafe for gorgeous salted-caramel, homemade ice cream and a superb, barista-level coffee.

As it was a nice mellow evening we had a walk around the area and came a cross a Latin street festival where they were playing hip-wriggling salsa music (just can’t keep still when there is Latin music playing) and it was great to watch the people dancing salsa in the street.street salsa photo

Crouch End is definitely worth a visit if you want to experience foodie heaven as there are lots of trendy restaurants/cafes there and, as it is where the London TV crowd live, you might even find yourself sitting next to a celebrity while you eat your tapas!
